It’s an exciting time to work for Sonoma Land Trust (SLT), especially within the small but mighty Philanthropy team. The organization is in the midst of successful comprehensive campaign, A Force for Nature, which has raised nearly $80 million over the past five years. The Planned Giving Officer has an opportunity to make a substantial impact by building our Legacy League, a giving circle for those who have included Sonoma Land Trust in their estate plans, as well as cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors able to make annual gifts of $10,000 and up. Our mission of protecting the land forever is closely aligned with our supporters’ desires of leaving a legacy of healthy landscapes and resilient communities. This is a remote-hybrid position, working two days in the office. Overview

The Planned Giving Officer directs the Legacy League Program. The Legacy League is Sonoma Land Trust’s recognition circle for those who have let us know that they have included Sonoma Land Trust in their estate plans. This position also helps develop and implement individual plans for selected donors, soliciting donations, working with other members of the Philanthropy Team, Finance Team and Marketing Team and program staff on solicitations and campaigns.

Schedule, Salary & Benefits

Position is 40 hours per week.

Salary starting at $107,000 commensurate with experience. Benefits include generous employer contributions to medical, dental and vision insurance plans. Employer contribution to retirement plan after 1 year of employment. Paid time off includes 15 paid holidays, paid vacation based on tenure, and personal and parental leave in accordance with SLT policies and procedures.

This position is located at the Sonoma Land Trust office in Santa Rosa, California. Staff are working in a hybrid model.
