AMLT seeks a Field Supervisor to lead the field activities of the NSC. The Field Supervisor reports to, and receives support from the NSC Program Director who is also in the field. The Field Supervisor directs a team of 8-12 Native Stewards in field-based resource management work. This work consists primarily of vegetation removal using hand tools and chainsaws, and some prescribed fire. Other field activities include vegetation surveys, maintaining native gardens, gathering from and tending native plants, and assisting in ecological research fieldwork. These activities are physically demanding and require working full days outdoors in variable weather conditions, often in backcountry areas without running water or toilet facilities. Occasionally the work demands staying overnight in a backcountry spike camp.
