Eastern Sierra Land Trust
Founded in 2001
Mission Statement: Eastern Sierra Land Trust works with willing landowners to preserve vital lands in the Eastern Sierra region for their scenic, agricultural, natural, recreational, historical, and watershed values.
To fulfill our mission of protecting vital lands in the Eastern Sierra, we commit our time and resources to three specific programs: Our Working Farms and Ranches Program helps ranchers, farmers and landowners set up voluntary land protection agreements that permanently protect family farms and ranches, against rising financial pressures to subdivide; Our Critical Habitats Program works to protect our region’s wild inhabitants, from mule deer to songbirds to the Inyo County star-tulip, through public education and land protection agreements; and by connecting people to the land and cultivating a sense of appreciation for our region and all that it offers, Community Connections enriches our lives and helps to foster awareness for permanent preservation.
Areas Covered: Inyo, Mono & Alpine Counties.
Protected: 93 fee title acres and 7,752 conservation easement acres
