Leadership Opportunity in USFWS Legacy Region 8 – Fish and Wildlife Administrator (Project Leader)

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is looking for a dynamic leader interested in working in sunny Sacramento and leading a large office in the Fish and Aquatic Conservation Program. The San Francisco Bay Delta Fish and Wildlife Office is a dynamic, fast-paced office that works on many issues, including issues related to California water project operations, endangered species consultation, listing and recovery, San Francisco Bay tidal habitat restoration, life cycle model development and much more.

The office is located in vibrant downtown Sacramento, conveniently located near the California State Capitol building and several state and federal agency offices. The new Golden 1 Center, home of the Sacramento Kings, and premier event venue is located two blocks away. Sacramento is centrally located between Lake Tahoe, the Napa Valley, San Francisco Bay Area and the California Coast. Sacramento is located at the confluence of the Sacramento and American Rivers and offers miles of river and river parkway to enjoy, including the 32-mile-long American River Parkway.  For water sports enthusiasts, nearby Folsom Lake State Recreation Area, the challenging rapids of the Upper American River, and the maze of waterways within the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta offer a variety of boating and whitewater rafting adventures.
